The overall scope of this position is to communicate clearly with Principal/Owner, clients, and vendors to ensure accuracy and completeness in design intent, project execution, schedules and drawings. Working under the direction of the Principal Designer, you will be accountable for project management from design concept to completion including all documentation, schedules, CAD drawings, selections coordination, and procurement. You will be responsible for communicating directly with our clients to ensure their design needs are met and executed upon, according to the budget and scope of the project.

RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
- Manage residential interior design projects from concept to installation
- Develop, update and monitor project schedules and work plans. Coordinate task lists and schedules with construction schedules as required
- Monitor fee budgets with Principal
- Attend client meetings to present design concepts, drawings, selected materials, plumbing and appliances, and get approval for the items chosen
- Manage/coordinate design workflow
- Keep all interested parties apprised of significant details and events
- Attend regularly scheduled project meetings with or without Principal. Visit job sites and travel as required
- Review construction documents and shop drawings
- Create specifications and finish schedules
- Communicate regularly with General Contractor to support construction schedule
- Troubleshoot with vendors, contractors, architects and tend to all issues regarding materials, fixtures, and appliances during the construction phase of the project
- Implement our studio’s procurement and construction document standards. Participate in on-going efforts to standardize and streamline company production procedures and paperwork
- Draft elevations and details as needed to resolve issues and complete packages
- Obtain specs, pricing, and quotes for items as needed
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Experience working at interior design studio as a designer or project manager
- Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture, or equivalent experience
- AutoCad expertise required***, SketchUp expertise a plus, Ivy a plus
- Experience with redlining and submitting Construction Documents and cabinetry shop drawings
- Knowledge of materials, applications, and construction
- Excellent project management skills as it pertains to budgets and schedule development/monitoring
- Strong time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and ability to work on multiple projects at once
- Ability to make decisions on the fly and know when to seek assistance
- Ability to work in a (very) close team environment, while interacting and working effectively with architects, contractors, clients, vendors, and fabricators in a professional manner
- Must have a can-do attitude with strong problem-solving skills
- Strong sense of urgency in completing tasks
- Little or no opposition to dance parties, dogs in the office, or loud music
Job Type: Part-time contract with strong potential to grow into full-time employment
Pay: Based on experience, $45/hour minimum
